ICC News: Honouring Liu Li’s Life
Dear All,
Today I write with a heavy heart to share the sad news of the passing of one of our family in Hengyang, Teacher Liu Li.
Liu Li is a teacher that joined our team in 2008, as a kindergarten teacher. Over the years Liu Li was trained on the job in special education, and has been a significant contributor to our special education department. Over the years she taught different groups of children of all ages, connecting with her heart and her skills.
During the lockdown Liu Li willingly and happily took on the task of caregiving for the first time, and embraced a different role, working with boys with higher needs. She adapted quickly, and was fun. After the lockdown, she again adapted to a new schedule that saw her working with a range of children, both teaching groups, and learning to run sensory circle times.
At work Liu Li always got on well with others, she was laid back but conscientious, she was fun, and she built strong caring relationships with her students. At home, she had a teenage son who she worked hard to support and set up for life.

On Saturday, on her day off, Liu Li cooked lunch for her son and lay down because she had a headache and needed to rest. Her son found her unconscious and breathing differently and alerted the family, she was rushed to hospital. Liu Li was diagnosed with a subarachnoid bleed. She was ventilated, but the doctors could not find the source of the bleed and she passed away on Monday morning, surrounded by her family.
Needless to say, the ICC Hengyang family are all in shock. This includes her young students, and her many friends amongst the staff.
We appreciate your prayers at this time for her family.
