【CEO Report】2nd Quarter Newsletter 2021
Relationships. Family. Love.
Many people find it surprising to learn that these are the foundations of ICC’s work at our care centres. They might expect us to stress the therapy, special education and medical programmes that we offer. These programmes are valuable, but for children who have experienced abandonment, who came to live among strangers and didn’t have a family to surround them, it’s important to start with the most basic elements of trust, care and love. Those essential building blocks lead to strong relationships, confident children and the loving families that we create for each child.
You’ll read about Li Ming, who has devoted two decades to knowing and loving the children in Changsha. You’ll hear from Madeline Fok, who volunteers in Hengyang. These special people provide the unique ingredients that allow a young boy like Hengheng to thrive when he becomes part of the ICC family.
You are part of that family, too. Your commitment, care and encouragement for these young people knits a strong web of support which will sustain them as they grow and develop into the people God created them to be.
