Next year, 2013, will mark an incredible achievement in the journey of International China Concern, the 20th anniversary of the founding of the organisation.

When David Gotts came home from that first trip to China having seen that baby girl just minutes from death, and then hearing God’s call to do something for the thousands more children abandoned because of disabilities, he could not have known what the future would hold.

Today, there is much to celebrate. All through 2013, we will indeed give thanks and celebrate what God has led ICC to do.

In future newsletters and online, we will look back at the past twenty years. We will look again at the story of how ICC began and tell some other stories that many might not know. We will explore how a small team of people pioneered a work in a China that was much different than the one we know today; a China not yet used to foreigners.

We will celebrate the hundreds of young lives impacted by ICC as they have been given love, hope and opportunity. We will celebrate the volunteers and staff members, the numerous short-term teams made up of people from all over the world and the work taking place in the seven National Offices around the world.

And what will the future bring? What is the vision for ICC for the next decade or two? These are some of the questions we will ask and explore later in the year.

Join us as we honour the past, celebrate the present and dream the future.

You can be an active part of the anniversary celebrations online. Visit our 20th Anniversary page

Do you have a story about a time you went on a China Team? Was there a child that impacted you like no other? When was the first time you heard about ICC? Are you a former long term volunteer? Perhaps you have a story to share about your time on a China Team?

You can submit your stories and photos with us. We want to collect your memories and preserve them as part of the history of ICC. We could even use them in future newsletters and online.

We want to share the good things that God has done with the many workers, volunteers, supporters, donors and prayer partners and you can be a part of that.

Visit our 20th Anniversary page and begin submitting your memories, thoughts, encouragements, prayers and stories.
